The word Adiemus itself resembles a Latin word meaning 'We will draw near', though incorrectly formed; Jenkins claims to have been unaware of this. Each Adiemus album is a collection of song-length pieces featuring harmonised vocal melody against an orchestral background. There are no lyrics as such, instead the vocalists sing syllables and 'words' invented by Jenkins. However, rather than creating musical interest from patterns of phonemes as in scat singing, the language of Adiemus is carefully stylised so as not to distract the listener's attention from the pitch and timbre of the voice—for example, as in African languages, syllables ending in consonants are rare. The core concept of Adiemus is that the voice should be allowed to function as nothing more than an instrument, a post-modern approach that has become something of a trend in recent choral writing, for example Vangelis's score for the film 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992).

Try any Karl Jenkins (the composer) . Follow these links for samples: http://www.songofthesalesman.co.uk/ad.aspx?partist=Karl%20Jenkins
Enya has NEVER been collaborating with Adiemus, this is a very bad example of misleading information circulating around the web!!!! Adiemus comprises of composer-conductor Karl Jenkins (a Welshman) and singers Miriam Stockley Mary Carewe, whose voices have been multiplied and layered together for the song Adiemus and all the albums' other tracks as well. Miriam Stockley is actually from South Africa (now residing in the US and doing solo career), so there you can hear the African influence indeed! Enya then, on the other hand, comes from Ireland and is the sister to singer Máire (Moya) Brennan. She does use similar vocal layering technique as well, but as said, she has never ever collaborated with Jenkins Stockley.
Most professional orchestras in the US release their schedules in the spring time, typically in the February through April time frame (although Minnesota has already released theirs). Best thing to do would be to check the websites of orchestras after the first of the year (say after February 1). With the Messiah being so popularly programmed, you will find the options plentiful. It would be a matter of narrowing down which city you would want to visit.
And just an FYI, Enya doesn't sing this song. The group is called Adiemus, and this is the first track from their CD Songs of Sanctuary A-ri-a-di-a-mus la-te A-ri-a-di-a-mus da A-ri-a-na-tus la-te a-du-a A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te la-te-a A-ri-a-di-a-mus la-te A-ri-a-di-a-mus da A-ri-a-na-tus la-te a-du-a A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te la-te-a (Chorus) A-na-ma-na coo-le-ra-we A-na-ma-na coo-le ra A-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we a-ka-la A-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we a-ka-la (A-ya doo a-ye) A-na-ma-na coo-le ra-we a-ka-la (A-ya doo a-ye) A-ya doo a-ye A-ya doo a-ye (Instrumental break) (Chorus) A-ri-a-di-a-mus la-te A-ri-a-di-a-mus da A-ri-a-na-tus la-te a-du-a A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te A-ra-va-re tu-e va-te la-te-a (Chorus) ya-ka-ma ya-ma-ya-ka-ya me-ma (A-ya doo a-ye) ya-ka-ma ya-ma-ya-ka-ya me-ma (A-ya doo a-ye) ya-ka-ma ya-ma-ya-ka-ya me-ma (A-ya doo a-ye) ya-ka-ma ya-ma-ya-ka-ya me-ya (A-ya doo a-ye) ya-ka-ma ya-ma-ya-ka-ya me-ma (A-ya doo a-ye) ya-ka-ma ya-ma-ya-ka-ya me-ma (A-ya doo a-ye) ya---ka--ma---me--ah (A-ya doo a-ye, A-ya doo a-ye) ya---ka--ma---me--ah (A-ya doo a-ye, A-ya doo a-ye) A-ya doo a-ye (A-ya doo a-ye) A-ya doo a-ye (A-ya doo a-ye) ...Repeat until end
This is the info I pulled off the web: Before you start the song, this song was only sung because of the beauty of the words if you translate they mean nothing. No language - the words are made-up sounds. They're not intended to have any meaning. Maybe Karl Jenkins didn't want the words to distract us from the beauty of the music? But if you're obsessing about the lyrics, then it hasn't worked!
nope...she did NOT ....that song comes from another nu age group named adiemus...people always think it's enya ... The Adiemus Singers * Pirjo Aittomäki * Mervi Hiltunen * Anna-Mari Kähärä * Merja Rajala * Säde Rissanen * Hanna-Riikka Siitonen * Mia Simanainen * Nina Tapio * Riikka Timonen enya's real name is ethnei brennan....as u can see she's not on the list....
I wouldn't be too stressed out about it if I was you. It's only an email address and I am sure that you have some sort of filter system on your email account to weed out any unwanted emails. If you can unsubscribe to the particular websites then that should remove your email address. Failing that you can just make a new one.
Although commonly confused, Enya and Adiemus are two completely seperate entities. And Enya at least is quite good, although I cannot vouch for Adiemus.
adiemus does, in fact, mean we will approach, come to ... therefore it also means we will draw near. The context may indicate another better meaning; but it does mean we will draw near and is translated correctly. adiemus is the 1st person, plural, future, indicative, active form of the verb adeo, adire, adivi, aditus which is a compound verb (ad + eo, ire, ivi (ii), itus) and it follows the standard forms of the verb eo which is itself an irregular verb (slightly). The real word you may be looking for is eo, etc. (I go, walk, march, pass, etc.). Any form of mistranslating by Karl Jenkins could only be affirmed in full context. No! I am not Karl Jenkins; nor has he or anyone else urged me to post this response. Hope this has been helpful. Be Well! Live long and prosper!
