Hey, 'how you doing, Tahitia. You are definitely one of a kind. I don't see questions like yours on Answers. Most people here only ask about new music. To begin with, the 3 groups you mentioned don't really sound alike. So let me suggest a few from the same era that you might want to give a listen to. For starters, Roxy Music, Brian Ferry, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Little River Band, Ambrosia, Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, Boz Scaggs, The Moody Blues a whole lot more. I could go on on. Let me know if you need more. Have a good one!..........

According to Wikipedia: The title of the album was inspired by Eric Woolfson's visit to Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) in Billingham England, where the first thing he saw was a street with miles of pipes, no people, no trees and a sign that said 'Ammonia Avenue'. The album focused on the possible misunderstanding of industrial scientific developments from a public perspective and a lack of understanding of the public from a scientific perspective. (Woolfson, Eric, Albums, Back Catalogue It looks to me like a mirror image of some sort of engine, with lots of pipes.
Start with the first one :~ Tales of Mystery and Imagination
I don't know how old you are , but I am 29 and first heard them when I was 5 back in '82 when Eye In The Sky was first released. It is one of those songs that stuck with me. For years, I thought they were 1 hit wonders, then I started seeking out their first albums. You could say I'm hitched. The Raven is still very underrated to this day becuase of the outsiders who have never heard a progressive hit like that.. Try finding Freudiana on YouTube. That is the rare album that was never released in America. Eric Woolfson sings that title hit.

There you go again, nailing another of my guilty pleasures to the monitor screen. Have loved 'em since . . . well, a long time ago. One of the best reasons that I love the group is that I only have vinyl for my collection. Whenever I want to hear any of their works, I get to look at the FULL sized artwork (yay!), fire up the old component system, get to de-ionize the record, clean the needle, clean the record, and engage my trusty Bang Olufsen turntable for the ride. I'm really into anything that requires a ritualization for use! Must be because I'm a Sixties child, where everything was so. I like to take their albums as a whole (one side at a time) and enjoy it all. Thanks, man.
I decided to give the song, the album it was from, and lead singer (if applicable) to help others who might be beginning to get into the Project's music. 1. Tales of Mystery and Imagination, circa 1975.
Ammonia Avenue - 1984 Concept: The album focused on the possible misunderstanding of industrial scientific developments from a public perspective and a lack of understanding of the public from a scientific perspective (Eric Woolfson, May 1983). It is their most radio-friendly album. Includes Don't Answer Me and You Don't Believe (the latter first appeared on a 1983 best of collection).
Eye in the Sky was released in 1982 well its available on evry website with their discography: you can find it here also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alan_Parsons_Project
Turn of a friendly card is an awesome album
Ooh. Picking only one?!? I Robot was my first Alan Parsons album. But I think Turn of a Friendly Card is possibly my favourite. Gaudi or Ammonia Avenue... or even Pyramid would also rank up there. Honestly though, I don't think there is a single album I haven't loved to death.
I would have to say that the moody blues have that psychedelic sound to them, Iron Butterfly but its not really progressive rock, A newer band today that is very talented in prog rock is Radiohead. Listen to a couple songs off the album Kid A. That is almost all instrumental. Its newer music but i'd have to say its roots are Pink Floyd. Roger waters and david gilmore have some solo stuff out there that you should take a look at too in case you don't know
dont answer me was a nice song and i loved lucifer
Good band though I doubt many people are going to know them.
