  3. Resolved Question: For only the intelligent to answer please...?
  4. 30 May 2008 at 5:55pm
Please read the link below and comment on how and why you think it is possible, without fore planning, that a family could be so well placed for so long a time, and even be placed right at the scene of Israelites migration out of Assyria? My belief is that there is a wider, bigger plan at large, but I would like to hear other peoples views or comments on the subject. http://www.ensignmessage.com/archives/washington.html To further cement my belief, please visit this link and type in the Greek Isopsephia box, Washington. I think you will be amazed to learn that numbered letter code, translates as 1492. Coincidence? It would be in the trillions to one of occurring. http://www.cs.utk.edu/~mclennan/OM/BA/Isopsephia.html There is no virus on any of these links as they've been on my PC for over 12 months. The question also begins with..FOR ONLY THE INTELLIGENT TO ANSWER. I can't be clearer on this. Even though the royal genaeology charts have been quoted and consulted, you still deny it possible.

  5. Resolved Question: Data compression?
  6. 30 May 2008 at 5:25pm
I have to store north of 400 gigs of files, and figured I'd compress them to make it a bit easier, however neither winrar nor 7-zip would knock more than 3% off of whatever I tried to archive at even their highest compression levels (best and ultra respectively). Now, I'm not expecting to cut the file sizes in half or anything, but I was hoping to do a little better than that. Is there some program or method or settings configuration I can use to get increased compression, or am I just hoping for too much?

  11. Resolved Question: Is this a man who really cares?
  12. 30 May 2008 at 3:12pm
A New York Times article not long after 9/11 (November 5, 2001) reported that Bush had told his friends (obviously with pride) that ?his runs on the Camp David trails through the Maryland woods have produced his fastest time in a decade, three miles in 21 minutes and 6 seconds.? USA Today (October 29, 2001) reported that Bush used to run 3 miles in 25 minutes and now he was ?boasting to friends and staffers? about his new time, and was ?now running 4 miles a day.? So with his approval rating soaring to 90 percent in the wake of 9/11 ? and with his being the main person in America whose job required that he be totally engaged every waking hour in working diligently on this nation?s response to 9/11 ? Bush, remarkably, was working diligently on improving his time for the mile. I ask you, what American president in history, Republican or Democrat, would have conducted himself this way? http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2008/05/27/9203/ Seems that one record Bush has set id downtime! Anonymouse - How much working out would you be doing when some unknown blew up your garage while people were inside working on a car?

Every country in the world that has a system of national health care has had to ration its access. That is because free access causes such an increase in demand that the system is overwhelmed and its availability must either be rationed, or it will collapse and not be available at all. Barack Obama has promised that if elected that within 100 days he will push through legislation to enact such a system in the USA. http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/05/the_big_domestic_policy_goal.php Before anyone says Obama's plan isn't socialized medicine not that as described on his own web site it would not be optional. 39. Resolved Question: Obama's church, is it mischaracterized?
  40. 30 May 2008 at 3:51am
I studied theology before law school and we studied black liberation theology, if you read the whole thing in context it?s not racist at all. White and Black are used as symbols and all theologians know this however most of the public does not and clearly the media doesn?t. Plus, Obama's Church has white members and white pastors speak their often. White students at the University of Chicago divinity school(not stupid) volunteer there all the time with no problems. It seems like all this talk about the church being racist is just propaganda used by people who want to mislead. I have yet to find a respectable theologian white or black who says Trinity?s theology is racist. It seems this whole controversy is predicated on ignorance. Wright may not have good feelings about America but his theology certainly isn?t heretical and racist. Marty Martin (white guy) is the most prominent theologian of our time and he supports Wright. see http://marty-center.uchicago.edu/sightings/archive_2007/0402.shtml 1+1 = 2 but you can argue, i guess your rosy red butt is just wrong, but okay thanks for reading. please no red scare stuff Mccarthyism died out years ago. I don't think Frank2x or whatever has been to all the black churches or many for that matter so i'm not sure how you could make such a generalization based on no evidence because the only place you could get evidence that Trinity is reflective of the black church is through polls done by chrisitan groups such as barna group or seminaries which you have not done. So where are you getting this from? Cause its false actually historically white churches have been far more racist and violent then black churches which is why churches are currently segregated. Read your church history and see how most white denominations formed even the one I'm apart of. Franky2x are you one of those guys who says that global warming isn't real even though the majority of scientist say it is, simply because you can't see, taste or touch it or because it was cold outside yesterday and its almost June. I say this because that is similar to the logic you seem to be employing (though i do not what to misinterpret you) all the experts disagree with you and the idea's suggested by the construction of various soundbytes. I am not trying to be intellectual just fair and accurate. Also Franky2x i don't think i come on yahoo answers to show off my intellect, if i wanted to do that their are a lot better places i could go. Marmalade man- thank you for your reductionist characterization of liberation theology. Clearly if you knew anything about it other than pulling a quote from Cone's book that you got off some internet site you would know that it is diverse and there are a multitude of approaches. Also, there is nothing in the Bible that prohibits theology from addressing government/political issues is happens all the time. Doing theology has nothing to do with the church and state issues. Jesus challenged the political powers of his day all the time. ex- Sanhedrin and Sadducees (they were not simply religious leaders). Liberation theology is only called a mix of sociology and Marxism and so on by people who have no theological or philosophical training. Very few Liberation theologians have that approach and we know who the ones are that fit that caricature ex. Segundo-philosophical anthropology. Get your facts straight, don't get your info from TV or none credible theologians. On Target- if I haven't spent much time looking then give me a quick example and don't say John Hagee or Pat Robertson.

  44. 30 May 2008 at 3:38am
I have been a local DJ for about 11 years in the USA and now I have made a very powerful contact in the club scene in a very major city. I have talked to her once on the phone now and we had a professional and very nice talk. She told me to let her know if I am coming to town and she would "introduce me to some people and show me around" I am FULL of excitement about this possible opportunity. I have added her to my myspace at this point but have yet to send her an email with the links to my website and the link to the archive of all of my mixed sets and demos. I plan on doing that but I am nervous about what to say and how to NOT screw this up!!! Also I work every weekend night, my boss hates me to take nights off, the guy that fills in for me's computer is down now, but when it is back up I am am thinking about taking her up on the visit. I just don't know when to do it and I don't want to bug her too much or give the impression that I am desparate. this COULD be it!

  48. 30 May 2008 at 2:42am
1.Britain and other European governments should break from the US over the international embargo on Gaza, former US president Jimmy Carter told the Guardian yesterday. Carter, visiting the Welsh border town of Hay for the Guardian literary festival, described the EU?s position on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute as ?supine? and its failure to criticise the Israeli blockade of Gaza as ?embarrassing?. Referring to the possibility of Europe breaking with the US in an interview with the Guardian, he said: ?Why not? They?re not our vassals. They occupy an equal position with the US.?? http://hotair.com/archives/2008/05/26/jimmy-carter-supine-europeans-should-break-with -us-on-gaza-blockade/ 2.Report: Jimmy Carter Says Israel Has 150 Nuclear Weapons. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,358152,00.html raz Yes I guess IT does run in that family.

  61. Resolved Question: question about hatching ducks?
  62. 29 May 2008 at 10:06pm
Hi, I have a question about hatching duck eggs. I have made an incubator nearly identical to this one http://www.bigredcouch.com/journal/archives/2007/08/homemade-incubator.html. My question relates to the heating. I bought the same exact thermostat shown. I have it set so that the light turns off at about 100 degrees. However, the thing doesn't turn back on until my thermometer reads 90 degrees. Is this going to be problem for hatching? I figured that the eggs would stay on average the correct temp. Also, would it be better to keep it at a range of 95-105? the above link doesn't work. use this one. http://www.bigredcouch.com/journal/archives/2007/08/homemade_incubator.html

Do your ministers go through special training sessions to speak this way? http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/archives/2008/05/ny_scientology.php QUOTE When Rev. John Carmichael, president of the Church of Scientology of New York, came face-to-face with a small contingent of Anonymous protestors this past Monday, he didn't engage them in a spiritual debate. Instead, he leaned into one member on a Times Square street and said, ?Let me tell you this: I smell pussy.? Then, looking squarely at the Anon added, ?You in particular.? If my minister spoke this way to someone, he would find himself kicked to the curb! 73. Resolved Question: What will your obituary say?
  74. 29 May 2008 at 5:39pm
My girlfriend just sent me this via e-mail. A life lived well? U. Utah Phillips, a Grammy-nominated folksinger, rabble-rouser and anarchist whose wild white beard re-called his years as a tramp, died of heart disease May 23 at his home in Nevada City, Calif. He was 73. Phillips, who over four decades on the road combined storytelling with song, described the plight of the work-ing class, the power of labor unions and the necessity of direct action. He dubbed himself the "Golden Voice of the Great Southwest," but his words, more than his baritone voice, carried authority; he had been a soldier, railroader, state archivist, union organizer, founder of a homeless shelter and homeless himself. He recorded the oft-overlooked value of rubber pockets, a necessity when stealing soup. His tall tale "Gaffing" was a rich illustration of populist scams. He honored the likes of Hood River Blackie and Fry Pan Jack, and never hesitated to leaven his history lessons about the Ford Strike of 1932, the Spokane Free Speech Fight of 1910 and the Canine Corps of World War II with such hysterical stories as "Suspender" and "Blackie & the Duck." His fans have posted dozens of videos of him or his songs on YouTube; in the mid-1990s, a new generation discovered him when folk musician and entrepreneur Ani DiFranco edited about 100 hours of homemade tapes of his performances and combined them with electronic hip-hop, creating an album called "The Past Didn't Go Anywhere" (1996) and releasing it on her Righteous Babe label. In 1999, he collaborated with DiFranco on the live album "Fellow Workers," which was nominated for a 2000 Grammy in the contemporary folk album category. "He was a real storyteller in his performances. He was just a catalogue of people's history in United States," DiFranco said in an interview this week. "He was so engaging on many, many levels." Phillips was a card-carrying member of the Industrial Workers of the World (Wobblies), a radical union that called for all working people to unite. He ran, unsuccessfully, for president in 1976 as an anarchist, but he never voted ? except in 2004 when President Bush's policies so enraged him, DiFranco said. "He voted for 'Not That Guy,' " she said. Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Tom Waits and Arlo Guthrie have all sung Utah Phillips songs, but he refused to let Johnny Cash record his standards, his eldest son told the Sacramento Bee newspaper, because he didn't trust the music industry. The Boston Globe called him "the kind of guy you'd want to sit next to on a long plane ride. Here's a rascal with a clutch of good songs that'll entertain you, educate you, and probably even get you fired up over the cur-rent state of politics." He was born as Bruce Phillips on May 15, 1935, in Cleveland to two labor organizers. His family moved to Utah in 1947, where Phillips learned to play the ukulele from an instruction manual, then took to the roads and rails of the West as a teenager. He adopted the name U. Utah Phillips in emulation of country vocalist T. Texas Tyler. "I worked with lots of old drunks only fit to shovel gravel, but they all knew songs, and they showed me how to play them," he said. Broke and out of work, he joined the Army in 1956 and was sent to Korea for three years. "I wanted to learn a trade, but all they taught me was how to shoot," he said in a Sing Out magazine interview. "What I really learned in the army was how to be a pacifist." After his discharge, he began to drink heavily and ride the rails. He drew a distinction between what he did and those of hobos and bums, quoting the 19th-century physician to the poor, Ben Reitman. "A hobo works and wanders, a tramp dreams and wanders, and a bum drinks and wanders," Phillips told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in 2006. "That's about right. I tramped. When I was on the freight trains, I wasn't looking for work. I was looking to go from place to place without paying any money." He took a job with the Utah state archives, and he volunteered at Salt Lake City's Joe Hill House, a shelter for tramps and itinerant workers. His 1968 race for a U.S. Senate seat as the nominee of the Peace & Freedom Party cost him his state job. He believed he was blacklisted. "All I had was an old VW bus, my guitar, $75, and a head full of songs, old- and new-made," he wrote two weeks ago in a message to his local radio station, KVMR-FM. "Fortunately ... I landed at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, New York. That seemed to be ground zero for folk music at the time. ... It took me a solid two years to realize I was no longer an unemployed organizer, but a traveling folk singer and storyteller." In 1973, folk fans discovered his song, "Moose Turd Pie," about the food served to laborers on a railroad gang. The bluegrass duo Flatt & Scruggs recorded his train song "Starlight on the Rails," and Joan Baez became the first of many to record the dark romantic ballad "Rock Salt and Nails," a song that became something of a folk and country standard. He settled in Nevada City, where he helped start the Peace and Justice Center and the Hospitality House, a homeless shelter. He launched a 100-episode syndicated radio show, "Loafer's Glory," and made occasional personal appearances, where he urged audience members to sing along on such tunes as "Dump the Bosses." 77. Resolved Question: What do you think about the words "machine gun" and "assul...
  78. 29 May 2008 at 5:34pm
Personall, I'm disgusted by the fact that people say these words to strike fear into other people. I just got through watching the following 1.5 hour video on debates over firearms in the Supremem court: rtsp://video.c-span.org/archive/sc/sc031808_2amendment.rm from the following website: http://www.nraila.org/heller/ A few people spoke of the word "machine guns" as if it is a race of firearms all on it's own. I am assuming they are referring to the fully automattic firearms which were nicknamed machine guns repetitively by anti-gun people. The reality is, all guns are machines. There are parts and pieces, buttons, springs, and the thing actually works to make a certian function easier for us to overcome. Firearms were blessings to hunters that had to kill their game with sticks and traps. Cars are machines, they are legal. And those are very capable of laying down lives. You have to be a certain age to own one, and when you get that old, you can have one. Basically, it's crazy that people still use those key words to strike fear, and note an infinite level of gore on guns, single shot, semi-auto, or even fully-auto. They are still guns, they don't spray shoot, or any of that crazy mess. Where you point is where it's gonna go, unless the bullet it's strong enough to reach those distances, you have horrible aim, or the sights aren't zeroed. Which in those cases, it's not the firearms fault. Overall, politicians misusing language to suit their needs in a debate is outrageous. If they limit our gun rights down to bb guns, maybe not until a few generations from now, how are people supposed to protect themselves? Legal or not, guns will exist. I'm sure if they had the power, they would raid every house in the country and take up everything they've made illegal. Right now it's the looks and functions of the guns that are supposed to be a problem, but next it's going to be the guns themselves. What is the problem? It's more like politicians taking fashion crimes seriously. It doesn't have to be made of wood and use an iron sight to be a good ol' gun. Just because it has a bipod, synthetic stock, a scope, and has a tactical look to it doesn't mean it's a terminator's weapon. Some people wear gothic clothes, you don't see them getting arrested for looking fearsome. P.S. I'd like to see that happen, politicians will definately have alot of problems then.

  79. Resolved Question: I need to replace the bottom bracket on a 2000/2001 Diamon...
  80. 29 May 2008 at 5:34pm
The bike was purchased in Spring 2001 but might be a 2000 model. A really big guy popped a wheelie on it several years ago and it's had a slight shimmy ever since. I've replaced the left crank arm three times. Someone finally told me the bracket was bad. They took it apart but the part number isn't listed on it. Diamondback customer service doesn't have an archive that far back so they can't tell me what part to use. Does anyone know what the replacement part number would be?

  93. Resolved Question: Are we that petty as a people?
  94. 29 May 2008 at 11:35am
This stupid story about Rachel Ray , Dunkin Donuts ad, and a scarf. What the hell is wrong with us? I can't believe Dunkin Donuts actually pulled the ad. If you haven't heard the stupid story here are some links. http://www.huliq.com/60608/rachel-ray-scarf-keffiyeh-doesn039t-promot-fear http://www.anorak.co.uk/anorak-in-new-york/184255.html http://www.feministe.us/blog/archives/2008/05/24/if-you-wear-a-black-white-scarf-the- terrorists-win/ http://womensissues.about.com/b/2008/05/28/michelle-malkins-meltdown-over-dunkin-donu ts-and-rachael-rays-scarf.htm The scarf Rachel has on has a paisley design....the ones commonly seen on Palestinians are checkered. This is so stupid....I don't know what is more foolish the fact people drew a connection with the scarf or that Dunkin Donuts actually pulled the ad. Smellyfoot...never knew pork had anything to do with terrorism.
