  1. Resolved Question: Please Help Me. This is my last change to change.?
  2. 7 Jun 2008 at 8:22am
I have a bad temper with my parents. I work extremely hard and go to an Ivy League College. I work my butt off and have hardly any social life. I seem to be working, working, working non stop. So I did an exam in Maths a few days ago and it went terrible. The reason being, I had three exams in a day, which was ludacris and my brain couldn't take so much information. I told my mom that I might, well fail and I have been secretly gutted since the test. She got mad at me telling me, It's my fault, I won't be able to get anywhere in life, I'll have to re-sit, no employer will want me etc. I got really mad and started hitting her but I didn't mean to. Whenever my parents mention something about me failing I get REALLY mad and start hitting them because I can't take the fact that I've sacrificed so much and I'm getting such bad grades. What can I do to control my temper? All your advice has really helped. Any new advice is welcome. I know I have been so disrespectful and I am going to change starting today.

  3. Resolved Question: Did Homer really say this..3....?
  4. 7 Jun 2008 at 5:25am
Homer: Bart, a woman is like a beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one! (chugs beer) Old man: Take this doll, but beware; it carries a terrible curse. Homer: Ooo, that's bad. Old man: But it comes with a free serving of frozen yoghurt! Homer: That's good! Old man: The frozen yoghurt is also cursed. Homer: That's bad. Old man: But it comes with your choice of toppings! Homer: That's good! Old man: The toppings contain potassium benzoate... Homer: (confused look) Old man: That's bad. Homer: Can I go now? Getting out of jury duty is easy. The trick is to say you're prejudiced against all races. Homer's brain: Use reverse psychology. Homer: Oh, that sounds too complicated. Homer's brain: Okay, don't use reverse psychology. Homer: Okay, I will! Homer: When I first heard that Marge was joining the police academy, I thought it would be fun and zany, like that movie -- Spaceballs. But instead it was dark and disturbing. Like that movie -- Police Academy.

  5. Resolved Question: if i don't believe in god, does that mean that bad things ...
  6. 7 Jun 2008 at 4:26am
ok. i do not belong to a religion. i do not believe in any one major god. my friend says that there is only one god. but i say that YOU are god. nobody [[meaning "god"]] controls what you say or do except for you. if you come up with a question, then that was YOUR human brain thinking that. i believe that there was no adam and eve. god did not create the universe. and i can explain that if you add me on messenger and would like to continue with this conversation. and no. you will not be able to convince me to believe in god. not believing in god is my choice; not yours. and i appologize if i sound harsh. but ANYWAYS back to my question........... so if i don't believe in god, then does that mean that i will have bad luck or sumthin? hm... if i don't believe in god, does that mean that myself and others around me get emotionaly hurt or injured? i am very confused about this theory and would like a LOGICAL answer please and thanks :]

  7. Resolved Question: Do you think that crack addicts and alcholics should have ...
  8. 7 Jun 2008 at 3:12am
Now before you say abortion is wrong think about the consequences it will have on the child... the baby will at worst be stillborn or not live past 2 months. if they are lucky they will make it to a year, they will at best always be a little slow and have a massive learning disability. and on top of that the chances of them walking are slim and none. now isnt it in the best intrest of the child to not be dumped in a rubbermaid tub in a dumpster behind 711 because the mom was to high to feed her baby and wanted to get rid of it like the child was a piece of trash causeing more brain damage. now tell me, what was in the better intrst of this child honestly, to end it at 8 weeks or to let her suffer for 30-40 years.

  23. Voting Question: can someone proofread this really quickly.?
  24. 6 Jun 2008 at 10:12am
    P. 88-89 Letting a person get to much power can let them control your mind, literally. Special Circumstances told their patients that the operation would change the way they looked, but not the way they thought. In this passage, Tally described how the Specialties used brain lesions to affect how people thought. They used them to keep control over the city. However, for the few that knew about the lesions, Special Circumstances did everything in their power to kill them because they were afraid of what would happen if they lost control. The Smoke wanted to escape the pretty-minded world, which is why they were targeted by Special Circumstances. The Specialties thought the Smoke would ruin their chosen way of life. This just proves that being completely controlled by someone can take away your ability to express your own opinions and way of life. . P. 142-143 Who you like it if a person spied on you your entire life? Life in New Pretty Town was exactly like this. Special Circumstances required all of New Pretty Town citizens to wear metal cuffs; these cuffs listened on their conversations. It would be impossible to have any privacy anywhere in the city. The city was a dictatorship! This just shows you that the city was taking away their freedom of speech and right to privacy. The spying was so bad that many got arrested if they were suspected of committing a crime against Special Circumstances. Sure, you could do anything you wanted in New Pretty Town, but was it worth having your thoughts known by the whole world? P. 314-315 Special Circumstances exercised their power by testing the lesions on a trapped civilization. The Specialties kept an entire way of life trapped on a reservation. This reservation was where the first unwilling test subjects had been drawn for the operation, including the lesions. The scientists who periodically visited were there to observe the origin of human violence and bloodshed. Tally clearly stated that Andrew, the tribe?s Holy man, did not know that his entire life was just an experiment; Andrew and his tribe were being used. Nobody should be forced to live life trapped inside a box. The Specialties were using the tribe for their own personal gain. Andrew?s dad died in a fight that meant nothing, which gave his life no purpose. Life should have a purpose and benefit others in a positive way.

  25. Resolved Question: Can too much sponteneity cause distressed people to behave...
  26. 6 Jun 2008 at 8:01am
Some people can relax and have fun without causing harm to themselves, to others and to the environment. But some people become anti-social or criminal. Is this to do with hidden distress? Is it people who are walking around carrying large amounts of hidden distress who become anti-social or criminal when they allow themselves to relax and have fun? Surely all bad behaviour is distress based and such bad behaviour is magnified when these people switch off their brains and stop thinking about consequences?

  33. Resolved Question: smoking weed in room?
  34. 5 Jun 2008 at 11:18pm
with a fan in the window blowing out, i can smoke bowls in my room and have the smell be gone 5 minutes after and keep the smoke and smell in the room. If i burn a joint or even a blunt, how much worse would the smell be; the smoke from bowls never escapes the room but im kinda scared to try... thanks in advance to everyone who says "drugs are bad" "youre gonna die, that shit kills your brain" Thank you Mr. Watkin, i know I will probably smell like it but that doesnt matter what matters is the smell leaving the room, which it doesnt with bowls, i was wondering if it would be the same with other paraphernalia but you obviously misunderstood the question. Thank you for sharing your story though.

  36. 5 Jun 2008 at 10:50pm

  37. Resolved Question: Is it Schizophrenia that has me this way?
  38. 5 Jun 2008 at 10:20pm
Ok whenever I see or hear about heinous crimes on the news, I wonder if I am capable of such crimes myself and I argue with myself over this to the point where sometimes I have myself convinced I'm some kind of monster but whenever I'm with my friends or outbuy these thoughts never cross my mind, it's only when I'm all alone, and in this time I also think back to silly stuff I did as a child and this too has me convinced I'm a bad person and I think my head will explode sometimes with all the negative thoughts that pour in, my brain never shuts off, I'm constantly questioning every little activity or action I do, whether it will result in good or bad. I'm asking basically for clarification of what this is and how I can be helped, and don't say you need serious phyciatric help NOW!!! cause I don't want to go through all that. I just want advise as to how I can help myself bury all the shit that is running through my head affecting my every move? I think I've been like this the majority of my life which has made me make some poor decisions but I'm only mature enough now to realise I have a serious problem. I'm 18 btw and I don't want this ruining my life cause there's many great things I want outta life. It's affecting my concentration, my judgement, I don't even have clear understanding of who I am and where I'm heading. yes actually, this sort of behaviour is termed as paranoid Schizophrenia, but if it's not that it's definitely extreme paranoia, the most extreme. I don't hear voices but my head is very crowded with thoughts and I do have many sides to my personality. I have everything you listed there except 2.

  39. Resolved Question: I need help to find why I do not have any spark in my 1992...
  40. 5 Jun 2008 at 10:04pm
It is a 1992, 360 V-8, Auto, Air, fully loaded with 175,000 miles. It was running just fine. My son drove it to work yesterday without any problems. When he was ready to come home, it wouldn?t start! Once I discovered there was no spark, I replaced the coil, distributor cap and distributor rotor . Still no spark! A friend of mine said it could be the distributor because they can go out without warning, or the computer ?brain?. I bought the truck about 3 months ago and the previous owner said it wouldn?t start one day and when they towed it in to the shop, they replaced the brain. This was within the last 9 months. Where is it located and can it be tested? Replacing the cap, rotor and coil was about $20.00. The computer and distributor will run about $400.00, so I can?t just buy them with hopes of discovering that they were bad! The only trouble the truck ever gave me was occasionally it would have like a split second ?miss?. It would kill the engine for about ½ of a second and then everything would be fine! It happened about every 3 or 4 days. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

  43. Resolved Question: Can rhythm be "learned", or are you born with it?
  44. 5 Jun 2008 at 7:24pm
Can folks can learn to improve their sense of rhythm, and if so, how can they can accomplish this? Also, what exactly governs how good or bad a person's rhythm is (i.e. a part of the brain)? Examples: My cousin has taken dance classes for a few years, on & off, yet she says her rhythm is still poor, & she frequently messes up because her timing is off. It's not like she lacks motivation. :) She loves music & dancing, & would love to have more rhythm, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. I also have a friend who cannot clap in time to music to save his life! Even when it's a song with a very noticeable and simple beat, and even when other folks are clapping properly around him, he just can't clap with the music! He finds it embarrassing but unexplainable. :\ Any insights? Just curious! Thanks!

I am a senior in college and I was recently diagnosed with a learning disability. Because of my disability (actually considered "retarded" for the left side of my brain) I was granted unlimited time for the LSAT in solitude. My question is this: Does this look bad to lawschools? I know it is obviously against the law to disciminate, but the difficulty of the LSAT is the fact that it is timed. Hope someone can help! Thank you!

  55. Voting Question: Problems with sinus surgery a year later?
  56. 5 Jun 2008 at 10:25am
I had sinus surgery done just over a year ago. I was having constant headaches, and found out that my sinuses were impacted up into the intracranial part of my brain. Over a year later, I'm starting to have horrible headaches again, and the pressure behind my eyes is just as bad. They keep putting me on medrol and antibiotics, but it isn't helping. Any thoughts on what is causing this now?

  57. Resolved Question: what would i experience taking one dose of lamictal?
  58. 5 Jun 2008 at 9:40am
The thing is i used to be on risperdal for a couple of months and it was probably the worst two months i've ever experienced in my whole life. Depression suicidal thoughts, emotionally unstable brain dead, tormented, was what those two months was all about. My life completely turned around for the better immediately after not taking risperdal anymore due mostly i think to the fear of ever having to take that medicine again. Right now i am stable, happy, work a full time job, and am in control of my life for th emost part. I am currently on a low dose of celexa and 4 mgs a day of adivan which helps keeps my mood swings under control. Long story short my doctor said it was alright to take risperdal once in a while to clear my mind (which it does) and for thereputic reasons. It works for that but i hate taking it so much and that whole day i DO take it just sucks. Can i substitute the dose of risperdal with lamictal and achieve and mood stabalizing thereputic? If it helps i will take it

  63. Resolved Question: Which Would You Say Is Worse? Pot/Alcohol?
  64. 5 Jun 2008 at 1:34am
Smoking Pot Or Drinking Alcohol? But really think about it sure pot is illegal for all ages and drinking isnt but, pot is a plant; its natural. Alcohol is a manmade substance and can cause serious brain damage, liver failure, and etc. Also you could even get alcohol posioning the first time you even drink and possibly die, and it messes with your nervous system so bad that you cant drive and you basically have no idea what your really even doing. Pot on the other hand is only illegal because the government cant tax it. Very little is known about it and there is no proof that it causes cancer or can cause long term memory lossage. Of course anyone that has smoked knows that it does cause short term memory loss but it is only temporary. When the high goes away your completely back to normal. Also pot is not addicting no matter what people say, it has nothing for you to become dependant on however you can get addicted to alcohol. So these are my views, what do you thing about it?

  65. Resolved Question: 6th grade speech... HELP MEEE PLEASE!?
  66. 5 Jun 2008 at 12:46am
I'd like to start by thanking the principal Mr..., our familys, friends, and of course Mr... who got me and my class here today by helping us do our absolute best. I remember my first day of sixth grade, i walked into the classroom and it was so new and so unfamiliar i didnt really know where i was supposed to sit or anything like that i didnt know if i had the right writing utensils or the right kind of paper. And this one person that i first sat next to i didnt like her at all, and it turns out she ended up being one of my best friends. And I didnt know Mr... wasnt going to be there the first few days i was so confused when i saw Mrs... i was like "wait i thought i was supposed to be in Mr...'s class" it was so funny i felt so dumb. The hardest things i had to learn in his class was DONT CHEW GUM, DONT SAY THE "S" WORDS, AND DON'T THROW THINGS. Over the school year I've learned alot of new things and met alot of new people who are some of the best people i have ever met. I've had my ups and i've also had my downs with friends and teachers. actually i owe Mrs.D a big thanks for the help with me and my friends this year. And even though i could've got in trouble i stuck with my friends when they were down i didnt care which teacher said no i was staying with my friends, even though i see that wasn't the best way to get the teachers to like me. The most confusing part of sixth grade for me was when we decided to switch classes it was so confusing at first and alot more homework. At first I liked it but then i wanted it back to normal im so glad we stopped, not because of the other teachers but because it was so confusing for my little brain. And i'd have to say my favorite subject through out the year was math, at first i thought math was the worst but then it actually started becoming my favorite subject. ** AT THE END** **BUT NOT THE WHOLE ENDING** Also i would like to say that my teacher this year is the best teacher i've had so far because he actually thought i was smart and he is the only teacher that can make me feel bad enough to say sorry, and actually mean it.

  69. Resolved Question: Can anyone please help me deal with haters?
  70. 4 Jun 2008 at 11:36pm
I'm a 15 yr old girl. I had a bad past with a group of girls which led to my shyness and insecurity right now. They are in my high school. I try not to think about them but their getting to me. I'm afraid i might end up having the same classes with them even though my HS is big with more than 4000 people. I'm worried I might bump into them in my future seior prom night and look at my pictures in my future senior yearbook. I care so much about what people think of me. They always stare at what I wear and who my friends are and they try to get to know my friends. I bump into them in the hallways sometimes and I try to hide. What do i do? Do I just stop thinking about them? I'm so lost ='[ I don't want my high school years to be ruined by thinking about what their thinking about me and how they're doing. They have no classes w/me but they keep appearing in my brain.

  71. Resolved Question: What is the worst breeding trend....?
  72. 4 Jun 2008 at 10:24pm
Earlier I answerd a question where I expressed my feelings on the nevitive breeding trends in racing Thoughobreds, as I have seen it. It realy got me to thinking on other negitive breeding trends. For me, with a paint, I have a crop out paint, the APHA alowed quarter horses to be bred into paint and be able to keep their paint registration. The negitive trend that was going on with paint was a lot of "backyard breeders" bred the brains out of the paint, because they wanted a baby that was pretty. So what my question is. What are some of the negitive trends that you see with your breed or discapline? I agree with you Black Bunny- The problem I have now with foundation horses is the king ranch has gone to the F@##ing danty little horses that cant pull a tarp. I live only a few hours away from the running W. I am looking to goto the carrage runners out of Idaho, to bring power and size of bone and muscle to the horse. In other words I am looking for breeding the foundation back to the breed, and I mean foundation as in strength, athletic ability and soundess well into their 20's as a working horse. Great comments y'all! Keep them coming!

  75. Resolved Question: Spelling? why comment when you don't know?
  76. 4 Jun 2008 at 7:27pm
Why do people think they can make bitchy comments about spelling mistakes? When It is obvious that the question has been read and understood... Is it simply a way for some people to get a power kick, by degrading someone in the proses? Dose anybody think that maybe someone is using an electronic word programme because of disability, or is not from the country you are!? in this case should they not be praised for there efforts!? Yes I can here you all say well I don't know what the circumstances are... So why bi-tch at them and risk making someone feel bad? After all the brain only needs the first and last letter to be in the right place to recognise the word!

  77. Resolved Question: Back again..still sick. Serious answers please.?
  78. 4 Jun 2008 at 7:14pm
Alright, so I got checked at the doctor's for the black stool and she said I have a parasite or inflammation in my small bowel... Well, my head often gets hot still. I'm not as dizzy, but I've been looking at the clock more often and noticing something strange. Yesterday I sat down at the computer at 4PM. I was on there for maybe..30 minutes or so. I looked at the clock again and it said 8PM. I checked all of the clocks in the house, and yes, I skipped out 4 hours. Today I was laying in bed at 2PM. I layed there for 10 minutes and did not fall asleep. Looked at my watch and it was 4PM. The hours often disappeared, but I've been alone every time, so I don't know what I'm doing through those hours. Been dizzy for two weeks, sometimes I can't keep my head up. Sudden pains in my chest. Brain feels like it's bleeding and my neck often feels really hot. My memory has been bad and my emotions have been really weird too. I have no idea what's going on.. Made another doctor's appointment

  82. 4 Jun 2008 at 6:19pm
Now most people will say Drugs are bad, and I agree with most of that statement (though not sure). Except Marijuana, Weed. Now I love Weed, I haven't done that much though but it's awesome. Now I was bored a couple of days ago and decided to go on a research rampage. I researched some things up on Marijuana, and to my surprise I found out that Weed is not bad for you, but good for you. Weed increases you're reproductive organs and prevents you from getting any type of cancer. I also was very sure Weed had some type of effect on your brain, which it actually doesn't. Now I researched a lot on this, so please don't assume that I'm some un-educated idiot that doesn't know what he's talking about. I went through pages and pages on this to try to confirm this astonishing discovery for myself. I read this article on it http://www.smokedot.org/blog/07/10/11/marijuana-prevents-cancer-(federal-research) After this I went on a government expedition. These government study's are in fact an honenest discovery. I am now 15 and cannot fund smoking pot. For me I would smoke pot every day, the minimum would be a nick a day which is $5. 5 times 7 (week) is $35. 35 times 4 (weeks in month) is $140. I am going to wait until I'm 16 to start smoking weed, when I can get a job. Later on I'm going to research other drugs. I have researched almost a hundred pages on this, don't get me wrong I know what I'm talking about. I even went into government pages and they even backed up the truth. Now I don't know all the positive effects of weed, so I will research this and find out more, as well as other dugs. So if anyone has any questions about this contact me at tidoxp@gmail.com Ha! To Micah White. Those are exactly the articles that are FAKE. The same like the videos my health teacher has shown my class previously. The effects that these pot smokers are having is not from the pot but from other dugs. Most people cannot handle theirs drugs and alcohol, so they go on to other harder things like Crack and Ecstacy. If you hadn't heard, Pot is a gateway drug. So if you're a novice and cannot handle yourself in your sorrow you will try harder dugs that will have a NEGATIVE effect on you. Here check out this site http://www.ukcia.org/politics/studies.html This site has studies countries had done, especially look at the Canadian one. Weed isn't bad, people just cann't handle it. And my mother and her boyfriend plan to go to the Netherlands where Pot is legalized, I plan to go also!

  93. Resolved Question: is this true or just to funny?
  94. 4 Jun 2008 at 8:37am
In the hospital the relatives gathered in the waiting room, where their family member lay gravely ill. Finally, the doctor came in looking tired and somber. "I'm afraid I'm the bearer of bad news," he said as he surveyed the worried faces. "The only hope left for your loved one at this time is a brain transplant. It's an experimental procedure, very risky but it is the only hope. Insurance will cover the procedure, but you will have to pay for the brain yourselves.." The family members sat silent as they absorbed the news. After a great length of time, someone asked, "Well, how much does a brain cost?" The doctor quickly responded, "$5,000 for a male brain, and $200 for a female brain." The moment turned awkward. Men in the room tried not to smile, avoiding eye contact with the women, but some actually smirked. A man unable to control his curiosity, blurted out the question everyone wanted to ask, "Why is the male brain so much more?" The doctor smiled at the childish innocence and explained to the entire group, "It's just standard pricing procedure. We have to mark down the price of the female brains , because they've actually been used."

i got hit in the head really bad it didnt knocked me out but it made me blurred out and for about half hour i was vomiting and shit then it passed about a year and half and the bump still there it is very small looks like a pimple sort of but when i press on it it doesnt pop the fluid goes away then hours later it builds up again,i been having some bad headaches not to a point to cry but annoying only on that side of the head were i got hit the other side doesnt bother me the right side of the brain ,i talked to a doctor he said it might be fracture theres nothing i can do just not to mess with it,but i am concerned i touch it i dont feel a whole in there or nothing does he mean it was fracture like chiped or fracture like it made a crack like sement when it breaks itsstill firm but its broken i mean i dont wanna get into another fight and someone punches me there and i die or maybe even get a tumor grow there or something i mean some other friend told me its bruced only do i have to worry about the lil bump i mean the head aches dont go away i dont have 10k to do an emaray ,and i am sort of scared to think that something worst is going on and that i am gonna die or need head surgury fuck that i rather just die,but the point is when i got punched maybe the injury didn t open and blood didnt come out is there a chance that the thick skin that goes on top of the skull is damage and the need to clean it up u know like scrape that out or something or maybe it needs to bleed the nasty blood that didnt come out from that time ,or it really is fracture and the blood is comeing from my brain i need one of those geeky nerdy guys that know about nerves also last butnot least i been feeling weird like when iam walking i feel like disoriented and like i feel stupid sometimes when people ask me things i cant concentrate that well and think lol hehehe i also see shit at night i seen like people walking by my room and i hear noises and i thought i had like demons after me but i dont know if it has to do with the concosion i suffer it turn me into a ti ti teee

I know the high temperature causes the enzymes in our body not to work. But why is this bad and why does it lead to severe damage?< >
