I know about his tunes for Badfinger but what other original MCartney written songs (i.e. not cover versions) have been released by others.

  3. Resolved Question: Who's the best guitarist in each of the following genres: ...
  4. 30 Apr 2008 at 12:28pm
Don't just pick one guitarist for all the genres together. I mean, I do know that a great guitarist will most likely be able to play anything but I'm looking for who everyone thinks is the best at playing each of the styles. If you skip one or two, I don't mind but try and pick one for all the genres I've listed! For example, here's what my answer would be: ROCK - Pete Ham of the band Badfinger BLUES - Stevie Ray Vaughan COUNTRY - Brad Paisley, Jerry Reed or Chet Atkins...not 100 percent sure which one... JAZZ - unsure

  7. Resolved Question: What's the best rock band out there and why?
  8. 27 Mar 2008 at 11:44am
You can choose from any style of rock, including, but not limited to, classic rock, hard rock, blues/rock, etc. I would choose the classic rock band Badfinger. My reasoning is as follows: they played rock, blues, jazz and country on some albums. Any set of musicians that can play each of those genres as well as Badfinger did, deserves a lot of credit. Plus, a lot of people rip off Badfinger's guitar parts, including Slash.

  11. Resolved Question: why did listening to this song make me feel depressed ? ba...
  12. 15 Mar 2008 at 9:16pm
it made me think of sometime in the future where i could be happy....having moved away from the uk.....walking down the road with a cute slightly chubby, pale redhead girl who is my girlfriend. the hope that i could overcome my complex problems....that ive had all my life.. i feel depressed now because ive never been happy ever, missed out on life...relationships...girlfriends...a job...a home.. a normal life....ive missed out on it all. i have very low self esteem, as ive had all my life...been rejected all my life. ive aged prematurely...dark lines under my eyes....a bald had....horrible skin....dry, pasty looking. im speaking to a chubby, pale redhead via myspace that ive emailed for a couple of months....she seems keen, but when she gets to see me....learns of my desperation and clingyness of my low self esteem....sees my physical imperfections and aged face......shell reject me i know it. im like this with people in general to, scared to reciprocate or contact people incase they reject me.....terrified of it. ive never built up any relationships ever in life because of all this and at 30 at many disadvantages to acomplish goals......i can positively say ive missed out big time in life. so when i imagine being happy with some chubby cute pale redhead, with badfingers '' no matter what '' playing in the background..........its pure head torture for me. What is your favorite singer or group?

  15. Voting Question: Who sings this song?
  16. 22 Jan 2008 at 4:54pm
I think the band was from the late 60's or early seventies. All I know is that there are lyrics in the song that say 'If there was a man that had it all surely it'd have to be me, and oh I miss you. And then it says pretty much the same thing the next verse except he says 'oh I miss you' and the 'oh I love you'. I thought maybe it was Badfinger, but I don't think so.

  27. Resolved Question: Any (obscure) music suggestions?
  28. 1 Sep 2007 at 3:42pm
I'm up for suggestions! I made a list of the music that is on my computer so you can get an idea of what I listen to. As you can tell, my music taste varies. However, I despise most of the popular bands (okay, ALL) bands of today. Also, keep in mind that I have many more artists on CD that isn't on my computer so they are not listed....so, try to be as obscure as possible. Several bands have had a crucial band mate(s) die (ie. Badfinger, INXS, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kiss, AC/DC, Foghat, etc). Some bands have continued while others did not. How does a band continue after a tragedy ? http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Boston_rocks/ Just an FYI - Brian Jones (Founding Rolling Stones band mate) died in 1969

  38. 14 Jun 2007 at 2:53pm
This can be an old artist or a current one. Mine would probably be Badfinger. They were a great band, but most people don't know who they were. Many people know the song "Without You" done by Harry Nilson and Mariah Carey, but Badfinger actually wrote and recorded it first. Tarkus, Almost everyone you listed I have heard of. It's the same for me being 22, none of my friends have heard of any of these groups. The Kinks are actually my favorite band. I've heard of Nick Drake but have never heard any of his music, but I think I'll check him out I agree with you about Big Star. Both were great bands that had horrible luck.

  57. Resolved Question: Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame?
  58. 23 Nov 2006 at 11:51am
As a long time fan of music, I see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a way of recognizing an artists' excellence in the field of musical sound. I also noticed that several performers have yet to be inducted into this prestigious honor. Among my many choices would be - Pat Benatar, Stray Cats, Journey, Chicago, The Fifth Dimension, Badfinger, The Knack, Neil Diamond, Cheech And Chong, Barry Manilow, REO Speedwagon, The Fleetwoods, Chubby Checker, Blondie, Dave Clark Five, and Ringo Starr. However- my definitive choice would be The Monkees. I mean; let's face it. Any group of guys that would want to make their own music gets my vote. Name another group with their very own Emmy Award-winning television sitcom, that also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also records more than 200 songs within a five year time period (including the Number One song of the year 1966), as well as appears in a feature film that has since gone on to become a cult classic. The Monkees rule!
