Andre has asked you to evaluate his business, Andre?s Hair Styling. Andre has five barbers working for him. (Andre is not one of them.) Each barber is paid $9.90 per hour and works a 40-hour week and a 50-week year, regardless of the number of haircuts. Rent and other fixed expenses are $1,750 per month. Hair shampoo used on all clients is .40 per client. Assume that the only service performed is the giving of haircuts (including shampoo), the unit price of which is $12. Andre has asked you to find the following information. 1.Find the contribution margin per haircut. Assume that the barbers' compensation is a fixed cost. Show calculations to support your answer. 2.Determine the annual break-even point, in number of haircuts. Support your answer with an appropriate explanation. Show calculations to support your answer. 3.What will be the operating income if 20,000 haircuts are performed? Show calculations to support your answer. 4.Suppose Andre revises the compensation method. The barbers will receive $4 per hour plus $6 for each haircut. What is the new contribution margin per haircut? What is the annual break-even point (in number of haircuts)? Show calculations to support your answer.

  19. Resolved Question: Progressive insurance won't let me use my uninsured motori...
  20. 22 May 2008 at 7:25pm
The scene: I was driving to work STOPPED at a red light (in my Honda). The car behind me (2005 Toyota) was stopped as well. Junker 1991 Oldsmobile with stupid distracted female doesn't see the STOPPED Toyota behind me and rear ends them nasty style. In turn, the Toyota rear ends my car. Thankfully, the light had JUST turned green so the car in front of me had JUST accelerated enough for me to avoid hitting them and adding to the number of accident victims. There were no injuries at the scene except the shook up idiot Oldsmobile driver. Insurance headaches to come. A week ago the guilty girl's insurance adjuster calls me and warns me that she may not have enough Collision coverage to cover BOTH my car AND the Toyota's damage, so both of us INNOCENT drivers will most likely have to pay for our deductibles. My UM coverage states that it can cover damages caused to my vehicle in the case where some1 doesn't have ENOUGH insurance to cover it themselves. Are they trying to screw me? Idiot female hit the car behind me, car behind me hit me. Guilty party is taking 100% of the blame willingly but they are UNDERinsured with only $10k for both cars she hit (including mine). Progressive tells me that wont be enough to cover my deductible as it normally would. I pay for something called Uninsured Motorist-Stackable (doesnt specify bodily injury or property dmg). It states "this coverage may also protect you if the person who caused the dmg does not have ENOUGH insurance". If they admitted to usually paying the deductible when u r not at fault, WHY aren't they going after the guilty party for this deductible this time? I pay just over $700 for 6 mos. so paying $500 (nearly double) for just sitting stopped @ a red light, while paying for this uninsured motorist insurance is just ridiculously stupid IMO. Can I fight this somehow? I feel cheated! By the way, BOTH the guilty party and myself are with Progressive. I cannot imagine Progressive fighting themselves just to fork over more money to me.

If not, please mention what I do need, and how I create this bold effect. Also, it'd be GREAT if you could find me some more examples of this make-up style (the bold / dark eye thing). P.S. but what happens when there's a crowd? Are there any techniques to use or are you just screwed? I'm asking this because I"m considering learning a grappling art to complement my current styles but I would really rather have a practical one rather than a flashy one.... Hm, the avoiding part is good but I'm not so sure that I'll be completely aware of my surroundings while I"m on the ground...I guess what I mean is that I want one that's as quick as possible while on the ground, so that I can continue using my main upright techniques to take care of that....

  33. Voting Question: help with hair color and cut?
  34. 22 May 2008 at 7:13pm
Okay, so my hair's pretty long...little bit past the middle of my back, and I have it brownish with a few highlights--but I'm getting it done this Saturday, and I was hoping to go a little bit more blonde, but not too too blonde, because it doesn't look too great on me when I'm reallllly blonde. And I have side bangs, but I was looking for a style with some more layers or something different with my bangs, but keeping them side bangs, and I want to keep my hair long, but I wanted to do something to give it more detail? Any ideas? I really need help =\ pictures would be really really helpful....

  47. Resolved Question: Help choosing new tennis racquet?
  48. 22 May 2008 at 6:59pm
I'm a high school 3rd singles player and I also play in USTA ranking tournaments in the L2 boys' 16 division. I recently broke the frame of my Ti. S6 tennis racquet, rendering it useless forever. I need a new racquet for tournaments. My playing style includes: Long, loopy swing midway power/control [if i had to choose, i would say power] aggressive net play i'm naturally skinny/ have long, skinny arms and wrists like to change my swing according to my position, strength, and the position of the ball on the court I aim the ball very precisely, so i need precision Also, I do not want a junior, novice, or development racquet AT ALL. i'm looking for a racquet with a thin, light frame, fast swing, has excellent feel on the ball, and a decently/appropriately-sized head size (also looking for a racquet meant for advanced players) I was considering the following racquets: Babolat Pure drive Roddick + Yonex RDS 001 Fischer M Comp 95 Wilson KPro Wilson KBlade 98 Wilson K Six.Two [just looking at these racquets(not sure enough to buy)] i mite demo few of them though

  51. Resolved Question: Why do so many martial arts styles train barefoot?
  52. 22 May 2008 at 6:53pm
Since people wear shoes most of the time, wouldn't it make more sense to train with them? It seems to me that the places you are most likely to need your self defense skills (bar, sporting event, dark ally, etc.), you would be wearing shoes. Or is there an inordinate risk of being attacked at the beach that I was unaware of?

  53. Voting Question: What hair colours would suit me?
  54. 22 May 2008 at 6:53pm
This is me with my natural hair colour [dark blondish-light brown] : http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s14/hopingtragedy/Uss090.jpg I have dyed my hair to this colour [a medium/dark brown]: http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s14/hopingtragedy/MeandSvet008.jpg I have light skin which tans very easily in the summer and hazel eyes [sometimes green other times brown] I also have naturally rosy cheeks so looking drained out or TOO pale is never the question :). I want to have a drastic change for Summer. No matter what, I'm going to dye and change my style, the problem is, to what? I'm fed up of brown. Should I go blonde or red? if so, what shade? I have chosen these shades of blonde that I think are really pretty..what do you think will suit me? any other suggestions are more than appreciated :) http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s14/hopingtragedy/hairstyles.jpg I am OBVIOUSLY going to go to a professional hairdresser cause i don't want to mess up my hair :)

  63. Voting Question: what's the best swimsuit for my body?
  64. 22 May 2008 at 6:46pm
im a 36A in bras and a medium in most bottoms. umm, i like bikinis but im willing to try a different style. my favorite feature on my body is my legs if that helps and i want something that will make my chest look bigger. my style in clothes is sort of indie, but kind of preppy with a dash of eclectic. i like any color except orange and im not a fan of polka dot. my price range is nothing where its like $30 for top and $35 for bottom. so dont get pricy. if you need anymore information ill post it in details. oh and PLEASE post links from the store you found the swimsuit at. thanks :)

  71. Resolved Question: What is with the purse thing?
  72. 22 May 2008 at 6:30pm
I may be kicked out of the girls clubhouse for this one but I do not get the point of paying insane amounts of money for something to hold your money. I've heard the argument that these expensive purses last "forever". I have a $10 purse from Walmart that I've had for 20 years and still looks great. I can admire the style for some of them but it would never be worth the price for me. And almost all of them slap their logos all over everything so you are paying $$$ to advertise for this company? I do understand the status thing with them but still think it's ridiculous. And why call it a "bag". It sounds even more ridiculous to pay $800 for a bag than a purse. Please explain. Jamie 10 - Trashy!? That is your opinion. Not sporting a logo that says I've spent a gazillion dollars on this bag in no way equates to taste or style. Have you seen some of these gaudy things? Personally I think it shows more class not to look like a walking billboard for some company. I look fine in public with my Walmart purse. In fact, years ago a friend of mine bought a Coach and it had an extra tag. We put it on my Walmart purse and plenty of your like-minded friends oohed and ahhed over how nice it was. 75. Resolved Question: What can I wear to a wedding when I am transgendered?
  76. 22 May 2008 at 6:26pm
My 2 best friends are getting married this month but I have no idea what to wear to the wedding. I am transgendered MTF and completely open about that fact to everyone I know. I have been on hormones for well over a year now but the effect has not taken hold quite as much as I had hoped it to. As a result I am in a VERY transitional phase right now. I do not quite "pass" as fully female as I am now but I do have a somewhat feminine appearance. I typically wear somewhat neutral womens jeans and t-shirts and have a very casual style. I don't want to be too "flamboyant" by coming in a dress and shocking the ultra conservative family members, taking away from the both of my friends very special day. On the other hand I would honestly rather die than come in a suit and tie. I was told that I can wear whatever I want and that in their minds there won't be a problem. I just don't want to stir up something among the guests (especially the family) that could ruin their big day. Any advice or tips would be more than appreciated.

  83. Resolved Question: Fashionable school supplies?
  84. 22 May 2008 at 6:20pm
This coming school year, I am entering high school. I want really chic, fashionable and trendy school supplies. Does anybody know any stylish supplies, or places to get them? Also, what should I have for freshman year? By the way, I put this in the style area because I want really fashionable stuff, specifically.

  85. Resolved Question: Help!!! Quick! Hairstyles for a 'chubby face'???
  86. 22 May 2008 at 6:16pm
One of my co-workers is wanting a new hairstyle and wanted me to ask on here what kind of style she should get. She wants either medium or short, and something that would make her face look smaller. (I tell her she's not chubby, but she won't listen to me!!) Thanks in advance! Pictures would be greatful too!

  87. Resolved Question: How would you say this is (SIMPLE) French?
  88. 22 May 2008 at 6:12pm
How would you say these sentances in simple French? -One attraction is Potosi. Potosi is an imperial village. -Cerro Rico is a mountainous area which is attracted by a lot of tourists. -The Temple of San Lorenzo and the Temple of Copacabana are also popular landmarks. (When I mean "simple French" I mean gr.5 style) THANKS!

  91. Resolved Question: what type of heel?
  92. 22 May 2008 at 6:09pm
For graduation, I want to wear nice looking heels, but I don't really wear high-heels. What type of heel and shoe style do you think works best for beginners yet still looks good in a knee-length strapless graduation dress? ( I'm not asking about colours or anything, just shoe type) I need good ankle support, no flip flops or slides. I heard flats were just as bad for your feet

  95. Resolved Question: Rock Lee... a tribute to Dragon Ball Z???
  96. 22 May 2008 at 6:07pm
ok... I've thinking about this a long time, Rock Lee is a ninja that uses taijutsu techniques (physical fighting style) and no matter what I always find it like "I think I've seen this before?".... and I just remember that I saw it in DBZ, so I went down thinking this, Lee is a tribute to DBZ, specially when he open those gates that he opens that makes him like in a kind of super saiyajin... also he uses weights, just like Goku and Piccolo used to...

  97. Resolved Question: What is this hairstyle? Also, pictures needed!?
  98. 22 May 2008 at 6:06pm
It's a girl's hairstyle, typically one you'd stereotype as "emo" or "jrock" or whatever. It's layered and falls a little passed the neck in the back, but because of the layers it can be spiked. There are also bangs in the front that fall to the side. It would look kind of like this without any styling, but I need better pics: http://a511.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/112/l_d64da2ad226ec84c6bf19b789f996696. jpg And of someone considerably more famous, although this is what it looks like on a guy: http://xad.xanga.com/b0dd656bd6035119187442/s85697957.jpg Help is greatly appreciated! The answer that is the most helpful and has the most pictures will be chosen as best, so please do try to find a lot! ^_^
