    This guy is singing Aladdin's a Whole New World but he does both parts! I really was shocked when I saw this. It's not something you see everyday..lol; good talent. http://youtube.com/watch?v=t9-CS2v8wcc&feature=user Just out of curiousity what does everyone else think? Good? Bad? Creepy yet good? Or just plain creepy? He also has another video "Part of your World" singing a song from the little mermaid. http://youtube.com/watch?v=YAPlmEHo9QQ&feature=user Also, does anyone know how he is doing this? Castrato? Countertenor? Falsetto?? It's insane!

    Looking for the title of this film and list of the songs used. Released in about 1997 Set in about 1720 Plot focuses on the beauty of the castrato's voice with flash backs to his childhood and the castration. Thank you for your help.

    I just learned what the italian castrati were, they were males castrated before puberty to preserve their voices. Could they have still grown in height?

    I've heard rumors about this, has anyone found anything to support or disprove this? I don't think it's physically possible for a man to sing that high without something being done to prevent voice change.

    Jesus was asked about fleshly desires (I assume) and he responded by referring to the Eunuchs (Castrati) and suggesting that if your right hand offends you, perhaps you should cut it off. Diogenes was posed a similar question about controlling the desires of the flesh. He responded by masturbating and noting, "If only I could cure my hunger by rubbing my belly." Raise your right stump if you agree with Jesus. jjjjjjjjj, that's just sexual repression. I bet you want to smash those Greek statues, too. And burn those book stores.     It's not so rare. I've seen such roles performed twice in the last year at the Metropolitan Opera, and there seems to be something similar in the works for this year.

    If you're wondering what a castrati is, in the early days of opera, women weren't allowed, so a special surgical procedure was used on some of the singers so they could sound like females.

    I have heard of people such as Paulo Able do Nascimento and Radu Marian, but I cannot find their music... I have heard of endocrinological cstrati- those who have naturally very little testosterone at birth and never fully develope their larynxs. I am aware that forcibly castrated singers have been outlawed.< >
