  1. Resolved Question: Military: Spec Ops OPINIONS?
  2. 17 Feb 2008 at 12:36am
I'm doing a paper right now about the U.S. military involvement in the middle east... anyway, part of it has to do with notoriety throughout the military as part of the background. I'm not real sure where to start with this so I just want your opinion on this matter... I know they're all elite, but based on your limited experience, how would you rank the U.S. Spec Ops Forces and other units with notoriety. These are your options, please rank them 1-9. Navy SEALs Army Rangers Army Special Forces Army 101st Airborne Army 82nd Airborne Army 10th Mountain Marine Recon Marine Infantry Air Force Pararescue Again, this is based on opinion because it does deal with notoriety and notability. All responses are appreciated, but please, I'm not looking for B.S. "they're all good at what they do" answers. I know that. Please understand my purpose in asking this and the reason for it, which is in regards to perception. Thanks everyone, sorry if any of that offended anybody.

  10. 16 Feb 2008 at 9:12pm

  20. 16 Feb 2008 at 6:45pm
There is actually some evidence that it was possible. The similarities in pyramid structures is one big one. Archeologists are open to the possibility. Most believe that the main migration came from a land bridge, but there is no reason to exclude anyone crossing by boat. People believe others traveled by boat to Australia thousands of years ago so it wasnt impossible to make long ocean voyages. Why is it so impossible that a few groups of people made it across the Atlantic by boat? The americas havent been excavated and studied nearly as much as other parts of the world have, esp the middle east, egypt, parts of europe. Of all the people that ever lived in the entire history of the world is it not at all possible that a few people tried to cross the atlantic and actually made it? How am I ignorant? I clearly know the main theory, land bridge from asia. I know the dna evidence (which still wouldnt exclude all american societies that ever existed). There isnt evidence to say it was impossible. Just because you dont accept a theory doesnt mean others are ignorant for thinking about the possibilities. Why dont you try to avoid the insults and answer the question? It is in this section cuz someone mentioned teaching the mormon (and its not just a mormon theory) of people coming to the americas by boat and I dont see why this possibility should be 100 percent excluded given the fact archeologists dont exclude it 100 percent. There was actually a program on the history channel a few years ago that compared pyramid structures and belief, and some cultural similarities btwn some ancient american cultures and the egyptians. It wasnt a mormon program either. People still wonder how ancient societies had the technological ability to build such structures as the pyramids in egypt. Is building a boat to cross the ocean that much harder than building a pyramid? James It is highly unlikely that a lot of things in the Bible happened. What is your point? Why cant people stick to the question? James It is highly unlikely that a lot of things in the Bible happened. What is your point? Why cant people stick to the question? I am not using this issue to prove mormonism or anything. I am just trying to show how it doesnt really disprove it either. If you were to believe God told the people in the BofM to come to the americas and directed the ship on how it was to be built (which is what the BoM states) then why would that be so impossible? Christians believe Noah built an ark yet discredit mormons because they claim people couldnt build a good enough ship back then. I dont understand the disconnect. Of course I wouldnt expect atheists to believe it at all.

  34. 16 Feb 2008 at 12:55pm
If global warming is real, how can those who believe in it answer these questions? -Much of the US has had one of the coldest/snowy winters in recorded history...how is this so? with "global warming" taking place? -Why are the southern ice-caps larger/thicker than any time in recorded history? -Ice-Core samples have shown that the CO2 levels have been higher in pre-recorded history, and even before man exsisted...? -Combating "Global Warming" will no doubt cause economical distress to the US, yet will not effect countries such as Russia,China,India, and the entire middle east. These countries will not change their ways...What will this do to the US economy (All for a theory that has been disproved/contested by most reputable scientists. 53. Resolved Question: the middle East politics: Zionism vs Arab nationalism ?
  54. 16 Feb 2008 at 5:20am
if you look at the middle east, there is two main side that caused trouble in the world. one side is Arab nationalism which uses islam religious discourse, has tried to eliminate jewish state in there. there are also big race among Arab nationalism who will be leader for Arabs. For example, Iran, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, Saudi Arabia. on the other hand, there has been zionist movement because of what happened for jews in the past. Jewish people had lived many trouble and they have strong Zionist feeling in order to remain in there. for me, Arab nationalism is more danger than Zionism. because, most of Arab states were created by Britain and France as artifical . so, why not Israel ? in Europe, everybody did genocide for jews people. they have right to own nation state. However, Israel forget its past and Israel has done massacre against Palestinian. for me, both side have to give up their nationalist feeling and have to live togather. otherwise, we can always see trouble in there because of all those facts, Israel always wants to strong ally around the world. it has strong relations with media it has strong ally or lobby in the US congress

She keeps stating that Mideast oil is buying us out and she will do whatever she can to block oil producing nations to stop using the proceeds of petrol dollars against us. Well if we use that type of logic, won't they do the same to the USA? afterall we have significant joint venture projects in Saudi alone and they can easily turn around and do the same to us! interestingly what Hillary does not know is that alot of the oil refineries in Saudi and other Middle east countries are partly owned by Exxon Mobil, Shell,BP and others. Why is she so naive about all of this? I question her capabilities of steering the economy now. I may in fact not vote for her.

Seems they want to save face and start another war to prove they are superior and to cover their mistakes from the last war. I do not recall Hezbollah shooting missles into Israel lately so why did they have to go an assassinate their 2nd in charge? or perhaps the Bush/Zionist regime wants to have an excuse to spread war and destruction in the Middle East to bring Syria and Iran into the war game. P.S. Please don't go and blame the Saudi's for higher oil prices this time if Israel goes into war with Hezbollah. Whining about Opec is not an option. 61. Resolved Question: Christians, will you denounce this Bible verse..........? ...
  62. 16 Feb 2008 at 1:19am
Please answer ALL the questions: Leviticus 20:13 "And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." God HIMSELF is quoted as saying this to Moses. Here are the questions: 1) I know Christians no longer think it's okay to kill gays because Jesus came and he died for our sins, but why did it USED to be okay? 2) If you lived in the Middle East 3,000 years ago and you were in charge with enforcing God's law, would you stone a gay person to death that was caught having gay sex? Remember, this is BEFORE Jesus came, so the rules are different and God HIMSELF commanded it and it is your duty to deal out the punishments. In this scenario, you are personally one of the people that have been put in charge in carrying out punishments. The He is without sin part was from Jesus. This scenario is BEFORE Jesus came and GOD HIMSELF tells Moses to do this. Read that verse and all the verses before that.

  72. 15 Feb 2008 at 10:04pm
David is an up and coming manager at a multi-national corporation. Recently his boss sent him to oversee a financial project in the Middle East. He did an excellent job at securing new business and was congratulated on the success of his two-week trip. However when David got back his collegues noticed a change in behavior. They found he was spending much of his time in the office with the door closed. He seldom engaged in small talk and attended only meetings he was personally running. At one of these meetings, a visiting collegue from another office came up behind his chair and greeted him by placing his hand on David's shoulder. David jumped up immediately and started cursing him out. After he came to his senses, he apologized to the collegue (and the co-workers in the room). Later, he told his supervisor that he was under a lot of stress and was taking a few days of R & R. What do you think is wrong with David?

  77. Resolved Question: Looking to expanding the American Empire, did bush, cheney...
  78. 15 Feb 2008 at 5:21pm
9/11 didn't quite turn out the way Bush, Cheney, and the PNACer's thought it would, did it? By now, the entire Middle East was supposed to have been conquered, the American Empire expanded, and militarism recredited. It was supposed to have propelled the neocon party to their glorious, 100-year, iron-fist rule over America. Instead, we have two pitifully failed wars, American prestige in ruins, and American global influence plummeting faster than the US dollar. To add insult to injury, the neocon party is in shambles, and the GOP will be out of power for decades to come. Did bush miscalculate when he let the terrorists attack us on 9/11? Does Cheney regret subverting law enforcement from apprehending the 9/11 hijackers in the months leading up to the attack? Does it keep him up at night knowing that he masterminded the stand-down order of America's air defenses and orchestrated the simultaneous war-games for operational cover on the day of 9/11? In other words, did the PNACers sacrifice the Twin Towers to Al Qaeda in vain? The neocons got the new Pearl Harbor that they longed for, but was it "worth it"? And does this have anything to do with how bush and cheney, with their time quickly running out, are desperately trying to salvage what pitiful scrap is left of their plan by starting another war with Iran?

The Antichrist potential and opportunities for evil will be counterbalanced by the ability to do good. 93. Resolved Question: Is this a clear picture of the World we live in?
  94. 15 Feb 2008 at 2:47pm
In the east, Leaders use uneducated poor people to commit terrorism in the name of religion when the religion may have nothing to do with it. Therefore, Stay in power and distract people from issues that really matter. Making horrible crimes look beauitful to them. Similarly in West, Business oriented corporates rely on a pretty similar staregy and has fundamentals similar to the east who support their greedy causes heedlessly, thinking they are doing their religion a big favor. When all corporates want is a good control of resources like Oil to counter other global economies. From Bird's eye View, East and West seem quite similar with the plan. Then in the middle we have billions of confused people who get to see very small picture of this huge puzzle and therefore remain confused all their life. What a mockery of religions everywhere? Anyways, My Question is "How long will it take for these so called religious people to realize that they are supporting their Ego and not God"?

In the video there were links to more of the same, they didnt look like anyone from the middle east they were definatly east asian but I doubt that Japanese people would burn there own flags. And the movie was recent looking I know about the rape of nanking but if we hold grudges over something that long ago, I shoud still hate germany over what hitler did. We forgive It was NOrth Korea I saw another flag behind the kid and it was their flag
