Dreamhost is one of best the hosting companies that allows hosting of adult sites. It also allows hosting of multiple sites on a single account. The plan includes 500GB of Disk Storage, and 5TB of Monthly Bandwidth, but they are increasing it all the time. P.S. The price is $119.40/year, but you can use a Promo code at signup page and get a $50.00 discount. The current Promo code is ACTIVE
Not tax deductible unless you can identify specific out of pocket expenses that you paid in order to provide the service. You are donating the use of personal property. Seems analogous to a person hosting an event at their house for the charity. The host could deduct the cost of food served, hired help, etc., but could not deduct the rental value of the home for the event, even though the host could have rented out the home for a day event for money.
try to find a company which has a tie up with google because the official email id of yours will work just as gmail.
I recommend Dreamhost http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html They're the best: 1. You get a free domain from them (actually 2 if you use the promo code, more about that later), or you can use one of these free domains to transfer your existing one to Dreamhost, and extend its' registration for one more year, all for free of course. 2. They have 500 GB of Disk Space and increasing 3. 5TB (5000 GB) of Bandwidth and increasing 4. You can use their huge Disk Space and host multiple sites on a single account. 5. Their price is $119.40/year ($9.95/month if you pay yearly) 6. Which is a pretty standard price but they currently have a promotion: Use the Promo Code: PLUS (at sign up page) and get a $50 discount + 2 Free Domain Names 7. This way you get them for $69.40/year ($5.78/month) You just have to initiate your domain name transfer from the company you registered the domain with.
if you are looking for a cheap and good host, consider www.3ix.com. i don't think there's anyone that can beat their basic plan which starts at US$1 per month. i've been using them for about 3 years now without any complaints. i'm not too sure about their design services though.... but if you engage them to do the design, you'll get your hosting and domain name free for 1 year. since you are likely to be uploading new pictures every now and then, you may want to tell them to design an easily scalable site that can grow together with your business. a site that provides a Maintenance page that allows you to manage (ie. add/modify/delete) picture Catagories, and also a facility to add/delete pictures in each catagory. however, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty in techie stuff, you should like their cPanel (http://control.3ix.org/), which is a graphical interface for managing almost anything on your website. many other hosting comanies offer this cPanel too..... as it has become more or less a standard offering on most of them. don't accept anything less. hope this helps :O)
http://www.travel-library.com/ http://www.homebookers.com/index.php You can advertise your holiday home on these sites for free. I have a holiday home in Poland and use these plus my own site. http://www.polandholidayhomerental.com Also you can add pic's and description of your property. I found Yahoo site builder easy to use for building my site. You can download the program to design your site for free. but you have to pay once you have put it on line. mine costs £6.75 a month
Here are some websites and web documents on how to start a web hosting business. These websites give you information on how to set up your own web hosting business: HostingResolve.com's Starting a Web Hosting Business http://www.hostingresolve.com/book/ch01.pdf Becoming a Web Host Company http://www.dedicated-servers-seek.com/?articles/hosting_company HostLibrary.com's Starting a Web Hosting Business http://www.hostlibrary.com/node/print/65 Another way of course is to simply become a reseller of a web hosting company, which is easier to start. Many hosting companies offer private label programs where you use their infrastructure but you can brand the business with your company name. An example of how this goes is Hostway's Private Label program http://www.hostway.com/resellers/private_label_program.html
I just checked out the BlueHost details, I am an affiliate. They use Cpanel, the industry standard control panel. If you are not comfortable with that, then chances are very good that you will not be happy with 95% of other hosts either. You're probably be in good shape with a $3-$5/ month host that is reliable. They are out there. This next step will save you money. Find a website that is similar to what you'd like to have. There are lots of entry level web designers that will not charge you much, and will be able to duplicate the site that you do like with some minor modifications. As a model, I would assume that the most important part of your site will be a single or multiple image galleries. Most servers will have this available as a simple install that any basic designer with half a brain can work with. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you could find a designer to copy a site, change a few images, and give you a quick lesson on how to update things yourself for under $100. As for the Mac, if the design and maintenance are all done online, it should be compatible. (Some designs are flawed and mess up on different browsers.) My $0.02
There are literally hundreds of options. I always recommend the following process when selecting. While taking a look at several hosting companies and the features they offer, first eliminate the ones that can not meet your needs. Once you have selected a few that offer great features and assistance in website building, you can then begin to compare the remaining companies dollar-for-dollar. Using this process will ensure that you get the best match for your needs and the most value for your money. Many of the paid hosting companies will allow adsense and will give detailed instructions on how to best utilize this monetization option. I use SiteSell and their SBI program. You can take a look at them and include them in your comparison if you'd like. http://www.tobuildyour.com BEST WISHES!
If you live in the USA you can get a free Domain name/website and 5 free domain name e-mails from officelive just select the basic package. some of the other providers you pay anywhere from $4.99 @ Month to $49 @ month for the same package
I have found that using Webstarts is the easiest way to complete you very own free website. There is a uniqe drag and drop tool that is extremely easy to use. Plus with a free membership you can get up to 5 free websites. Here Is The Link http://WebStarts.com
I recommend http://www.hosttell.com/one They are one of the leading European web hosting companies, currently hosting over 500 000 websites. They have plans starting from $1.45/month. Every plan includes Photo Gallery, WebEditor (so you can build a website without knowledge of HTML), Google Adwords coupon (so you can advertise your website on google for free) and a lot more. Check them out.
Unfortunately a lot of the cheap hosting companies have a rubbish customer service and charge you extra to speak to someone who can actually help you. If you bought the domain from a separate company you could try and withhold payment from the hosting company and just reroute the domain to a new host. (This can lead to the balliffs being called in to collect your debt). Don't do this if your host also controls the domain because you could lose it. At the end of the day, you only get what you pay for - so a cheap hosting = lousy service. Good luck
skye_281, I found a large list of personal website hosting services. http://www.findwebsitehost.com Finding a nearby webhosting company might have it's advantages because you can visit their facility if needed.
Diana, Believe it or not, Micosoft offers free websites and free domain names. These sites are designed for business use, but can also be used for personal sites. There's a great article at eHow that describes how to get a free domain name and website from Microsoft: http://www.ehow.com/how_2254591_free-website-domain-name.html How to Get a Free Website Signing up and building a site is pretty easy. Nice of Bill Gates to be giving something away, eh?
I always use: http://www.re-invent.com/ For all my Microsoft based websites. They aren't the cheapest but from a support standpoint they are some of the best.
You can use a cjb.net domain. They allow you to set nameservers. Then your address will be http://www.yoursite.cjb.net/ . You can set the nameserver by logging in to your account. They only allow you to set one nameserver. For example, ns1.electedhosting.com . And you can get free hosting at http://addyour.net or http://www.byethost.com .
You could try photoreflect or smugmug pro. I think even dot photo also might offer what you are looking for. If you already have your own website you can do it yourself for minimal cost by using showmeproofs.com Good luck, Bill
