In the past few years a rising number of companies have experimented with Agile practices, hoping to bring the most valuable product features faster to the market and gain strategic advantage./p pBut many companies have had difficulties adopting the new Agile practices. Some have faced employee or department resistance to change during the transition. Others have failed to demonstrate enough business value to keep the initiatives alive and spread it across the organization./p pClearly, companies have to rethink how they formulate their Agile adoption strategy. A five-part methodology can help:br / 1. Companies need to realize the importance of starting small. This is the time for selecting a pilot project for the Agile adoption. Companies will want to try and fail and learn within the pilot project before they move with a wholesale adoption.br / 2. Companies should define business value in very clear and concrete terms. It’s all too often that projects deliver too many features, mostly useless to the real customers.br / 3. Activities and technologies need to be evaluated according to their contribution to the business value. Agility promotes faster business value, but not necessarily the latest and greatest technical framework.br / 4. the companies should carefully select and incrementally adopt key Agile practices. Agile adoption does not have to be all or nothing. Every practice should be assessed with respect to the business goals and only adopted if it makes business sense. br / 5. Companies should develop a set of objective evaluation criteria to measure the success of the initiative. Since it is very difficult to improve things that cannot be measured, it is imperative to develop a set of measurable goals to assess the success of the Agile project./p pThis Webinar will outline the principles and tools that will help companies choose the right strategy while adopting Agile. Process and methodology improvements are often faced with skepticism as they are seen as another tool for the management.     pLured by the $400 advertising credit Google was giving to anyone willing to try out their new radio program - called Google Audio Ads - I went ahead and ran a campaign during the last week of August./p pa id="more-699"/a/p pI selected a a href="http://jonesatlarge.com/"voice over specialist/a, wrote a script, and literally in a matter of days I had a href="http://services.dmarc.net/dbRecordings/0/1716/14064149---.wma"a professional radio ad/a ready for primetime. I then selected the geographic area in which I wanted the ad to run, targeted by demographics and station type, and set my CPM bid and weekly budget./p pOver a one week period, my ad received 504 air plays and over 400,000 impressions at a cost of about $500. Add in the cost of the voice over, deduct the $400 credit, and I ended up paying about $300 for 500 air plays, or around $.60 an airing./p pDid it work? Well in truth, probably not. Although I added in a promotional code at the end of the message to track conversions, I didn#8217;t do enough to truly track sales(next time I#8217;ll take Google#8217;s advice and send the ad to a dedicated URL instead of my company#8217;s main Web site). A cursory analysis of my Google Analytics stats showed a slight increase in visitors in the main cities in which the ad ran, but none of those visitors seemed to turn into paying customers./p pThat being said, my experience with Audio Ads was incredibly positive and for several reasons, I#8217;m currently pretty bullish about the prospects of this technology - both for Google and for advertisers./p pIf you know anything about radio advertising (I admit I know very little), if you are in a direct-response business, and if you sell a product that can either be sold over the phone or can be tracked to a specific URL, I recommend you start allocating some of your testing budget to Audio Ads immediately, for two basic reasons:/p p1. uIt#8217;s easy/u. As noted above, you can literally create a professional-quality campaign with no prior radio expertise in a matter of days. For $500-$600, you can have a slew of different ads to test./p p2. uIt#8217;s an arbitrage opportunity/u. Few people are using Audio Ads right now. Translation: this is a great time to get into the system, find out which ads, stations, time slots, and bids will work for you, and totally pump up your campaigns. In many ways, it#8217;s reminiscent of the early days of AdWords (or better yet of GoTo, I mean Overture, I mean Yahoo Search Marketing). Remember being able to buy the keyword #8220;mortgage#8221; for $.25 CPC? This could be the equivalent./p pAgain, this isn#8217;t right for everyone. If you haven#8217;t yet optimized your AdWords campaigns, that#8217;s still a better place to spend your time. If you don#8217;t have prior experience in radio, I#8217;d still be cautious. And if you can#8217;t track and convert people via the Web and phone, you may have difficulty.
