  7. ABC Nightly News Biased - You Don’t Say
  8. 22 Jul 2007 at 3:10pm
pABC News offered up this segment of a soldier#8217;s-eye-view last week. I expect that network news is biased. However it was so stunningly obvious it was painful to watch./p pMy first clue things were going South was that this exclusive comes courtesy of the Guardian. A paper many in the U.S. wouldn#8217;t know as extremely left-leaning./p pListen to the audio and play long with the checklist below. All caps indicates the the voice-over engaging in a heavy sigh for dramatic effect./p pLet#8217;s play, shall we?/p pa href="http://www.sixmeatbuffet.com/images/abc_surge.mp3" target="_blank"Listen/a/p ul listrongA YEAR/strongbr / nbsp; /li liAn explosion at a bomb making factory. strongNeighbors, INCLUDING CHILDREN hit/strong.br / nbsp; /li liUS Soldiers, strongonly one of them a Medic/strong, #8230; [perhaps, #8220;thankfully, one is a medic#8221; would work too?]br / nbsp; /li li#8230; burning to death in a Bradley #8230;br / nbsp; /li liSearching for insurgents, they find only an old woman. Yes. To pretend that they don#8217;t exist does a disservice to these individuals. /p pBut from start to finish, this report is clearly pushing an anti-war agenda. Worse, they#8217;re using our servicepeople to make that message. Martha Raddatz even came on afterwards to emphasize the agonizing difference between a 12 month and a 15 tour of duty. Her face was so contorted, I was sure either tears or a severe bowel movement was just around the corner./p

  19. ABC plans to open archives online
  20. 7 Feb 2007 at 11:28pm
pGood news#8230; a href="http://www.abc.net.au"ABC/a (that#8217;s the Australian ABC, not the American one) plans to follow the lead of the BBC and a href="http://www.theage.com.au/news/biztech/up-next-abc-prepares-to-unlock-archives/2 007/02/07/1170524155558.html"open its archive of TV and radio shows for download/a. They now offer several shows as podcasts and video podcasts and, reportedly, more than 2 million files are downloaded every month./p pThe possible catch is that they may charge for old shows; that would be a way to improve the financial health of the network, which is fully supported by taxpayers at the moment (ABC broadcasts no ads in any of its TV and radio stations, but it#8217;s been exploring the possibility of displaying ads in its web site). The BBC does charge for downloads of shows that have been broadcast more than a week ago, but I don#8217;t know how much money they#8217;re making out of it./p

We bought this new (old) cabinet last week. The cabinet and I are on a bit of a new furniture honeymoon with each other. I'm loving the cabinet. 37. Anti-War Ad Targets Democratic Congressman
